Peer Support Specialist

Mind the Frontline is a leading organization dedicated to providing mental health support and resources to frontline workers. We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate individual to join our team as a Peer Support Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing immediate crisis support through hotlines and social media outlets, as well as offering scheduled, 24/7 support when needed. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in crisis mitigation and provide essential resources to individuals in need.
Responsibilities

Accept immediate crisis contacts from hotlines or social media outlets and provide timely support and resources.

Demonstrate a deep understanding of crisis mitigation techniques and be available as a resource for immediate support, including scheduled support and potential travel as required by crisis situations.

Collaborate closely with certified mental health specialists to ensure the effectiveness of the support provided.

Establish clear criteria and performance indicators for progression from a Peer Support Responder to a Peer Support Specialist.

Consider years of experience as a healthcare provider as one of the criteria for advancement to the specialist role.

Evaluate applicants based on how they have integrated their professional expertise and personal experiences to provide impactful support to frontline workers.

Provide additional training to Peer Support Specialists on advanced crisis intervention techniques, self-care strategies, and building long-term supportive relationships with frontline workers.

Maintain accurate and confidential records of crisis contacts and interactions with individuals seeking support.
Requirements

Completion of the Peer Support Team Member training.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in providing, working, supporting, or being involved in Peer Support or a Peer Support program capacity.

Active First Responder status.
