Sgt. Michael Sugrue - Ret.

Michael Sugrue, a former U.S. Air Force Security Forces Officer and Walnut Creek Police Department Captain, is a distinguished advocate for first responder mental health. Throughout his decorated career, he served in diverse roles globally, including Flight Leader and Chief of Security Forces. A recipient of the Walnut Creek PD Distinguished Service Medal, Sugrue's heroic actions during a fatal officer-involved shooting in 2012 earned him recognition. Now a Peer Volunteer at the West Coast Post Trauma Retreat and an Ambassador for Save A Warrior, Sugrue is committed to raising awareness and providing support for Post Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI) and First Responder Suicide Prevention. His co-authored book, "RELENTLESS COURAGE: Winning the Battle Against Frontline Trauma," with Dr. Shauna Springer, PhD, is an international bestseller offering insights and a path to healing within the law enforcement community.
